Athens Mastering was the dream of Chris Hatzistamou and Themis Zafiropoulos.
Their objective was to create a mastering studio among the very best, also to establish mastering in Greece.
They are both sound engineers who played an important role since 1985 in Greek musical life and they are known for their dedication in purist recording methods and sound processing.
Chris Hatzistamou studied biology and is a gratuated guitarist. He has worked for many years as a composer, musician,orchestrator, producer and sound engineer. The last 9 years he specialized in mastering. After more than 1600 records we are not far from the truth if we say that he is the one who mainly established mastering and restoration in Greece.
Themis Zafiropoulos studied physics and electroacoustics and is working as sound engineer of classical music and opera on location recordings the last 20 years. He owns one of the best recording mobile studios for classical music in Greece and he is responsible of the audio archive in National Opera of Greece and Athens State Orchestra since 1993. Pioneer in purist recording techniques in this country, he was the first sound engineer who used digital equipment for recording and editing.
